When it comes to embroidery hoops, I only use Elbesee. These hoops are high quality and made in the UK from FSC certified close-grain beech with smooth radius edges and wax polished. 
 
You will notice the difference if you're upgrading from cheaper bamboo hoops. These are less prone to warping, hold your work tighter and don't have that annoying blue plastic wrap on the screw!
